Figure Class Tests

[W]e can never know what this pattern means or how it originates; and even if some superior intelligence were to tell us, we should find the explanation unintelligible.

Sir James Hopwood Jeans, Physics and Philosophy

Description

The tests below constitute a series designed to assess your ability to discover properties that abstract figures can have.

Each test has 10 items. In each item, you will be given six abstract figures, and your task is to identify the one abstract figure that does not have a simple property that the other abstract figures do have.

These tests are an assessment of the ability to perceive similarities in purely abstract material of a figural kind, requiring integration and synthesis of perceived details, testing of hypotheses against evidence, and insight and creative in the figural domain.

Context

The item type found in these tests resembles several item types that are somewhat common on professional intelligence tests, all requiring the ability to uncover patterns in the figural or abstract domain.
